Using scout

scout helps you compare electronics and pick what fits your needs. By using scout, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Products and prices

scout doesn’t sell anything. When you buy, you buy from the store, and that store’s terms, prices and return policies apply. Some products, specs and prices on scout are sample data, and live prices come from other services and can be out of date or wrong. Always check the price and details with the store before you buy.

Recommendations and scores

Match scores, best picks and ratings are our own estimates of how well a product fits what you asked for. They’re opinions to help you decide, not guarantees about how a product will perform for you.

The shopping assistant

The scout assistant uses AI to answer your questions. Its answers can be incomplete or wrong, so double-check anything important before you rely on it. Please don’t share sensitive personal information, like passwords or payment details, in a chat. Your chats are saved to your account so you can come back to them. See our privacy page for more.

Your account

You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for what happens on your account. Please give us a real email address so we can reach you about your account.

Fair use

Please don’t:

• Use scout for anything illegal or to harm others.
• Copy or collect scout’s content in bulk, including with bots or scrapers.
• Send automated or excessive messages to the assistant, or try to make it produce harmful content.
• Try to break, overload or get around the security of scout.

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Links, stores and brands

scout links to other websites that we don’t control. Some links may be affiliate links, which means scout may earn a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. See how scout works. Product names, brands and logos belong to their owners. Showing them on scout doesn’t mean those companies endorse or work with scout.

No guarantees

scout is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or up to date. To the extent the law allows, scout isn’t responsible for losses that come from relying on information on the site or from purchases you make with stores.

Changes

We may update these terms as scout grows. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using scout after an update, the new terms apply.
